I guess he doesn't like super worms too much...

Hey everyone,

My little guy Apollo has been eating extremely well ever since i got him. He loves his crix and the thrill of chasing them down and i never had a problem feeding him. Recently i was at a reptile show and they had a lot of feeders there for extremely cheep so i stocked up on my dusts and decided to see if Apollo and my girl Reptar like super worms. Well being that reptar is doing her brumation thingy, she ate 2 worms and was stuffed. Apollo however being the pig he is ate a little more than 2.

now here comes the problem. this morning i woke up and saw that his beard was extremely black. I didn't think much of it because i thought maybe he saw her and got a little frisky and that was all. later during the day he seemed pretty lethargic and wasn't basking on his normal tree branch. and just about going to sleep i see a nice heaping pile of dead worms in his tank. leading me to believe that he yacked them all up. his beard is back to normal and he seems to just be sleepy now.

I'll see how he does tomorrow morning, but is this something i should get him checked out on or does he just not have a taste for those yummy little worms? :?

What were the temps in your tank and what do you take them with?
I ask this because improper heating in the tank can make their tummy upset. I had that problem more than a month ago when I first got Zoom Zoom. She hasn't had that problem since. Usually if the temps are correct, there could be another problem when beardies upchuck. If your temps are fine, I would get him a vet check.

Update on this morning...
After yackin up his din din last night...
I woke up and almost his entire back was black instead of his usual high orange/red self also his belly was dotted black all over, obviously not a good sign at all. But he wasn’t that lethargic.
I gave him a bath and let him soak for a while then fed him some greens and he seemed to perk up a lot. He hoped up onto his basking spot and sat there for a little and about an hour later almost all the black spots were gone and he had gained most of his color back.

Little guy scared the crap outta me.

Yeah I think the temps are ok
His basking spot is about 107 right now
And the cooler side is about 82

He is usually a very healthy dragon :?

Wondering if he's getting too cold at night? My beardie gets all dark and spotty each night even though his temps stay at 75 at night. Throw him in the bath and he gets back to normal for me.

come to think of it sunkist...

the temps do go to 75 at night... but ive hurd that thats fine as long as it doesnt go below 70. Maybe ill raise the temps a little and see how they react

Your temps, day and night sound good. I think it's time for a vet check. Unless other more experienced posters have an idea. I would try rosebud or Drache613, or diamc. When beardies throw up it's not normal. The only experience I've had with that is with Zoom Zoom the 2nd day after we got her and that was only that one time.
