Yes , my bearded dragon family, i yet bought another beardie. And yes you read it right. I bought a 100% Italian Silkback from Josh at "phantom dragons". I've wanted a silkback for months now but the only place i could acquire one was in the uk, too much red tape to go thru with gaming and wildlife and customs and what not. i finally stumbled across them here in the states. i am so excited but as i am expecting some of you to give me a run for my money as far as why a silkback. some people think they're weird , "ugly" looking , a mutation of nature or should i say freaks of nature, and why anyone would even do such a thing as produce them. i find them fascinating and cool looking , and different and that's what i like about them , they're different. the care is a little different than a normal beardie but not by much, they need lower uv , and you have keep an eye on them when they are shedding, they need a little more humidity and the basking temps are just a little lower. and i do have to put a thin layer of baby lotion on her about 3 times a week , her skin feels like a baby's. but aside from that, everything else is the same. she will be arriving tomorrow morning , i can't wait , so i will post pics later in the day, she is in shed tho. she's 2 months old. with all this being said, no matter if people think she's weird looking or ugly , she will still give me the enjoyment that i get from my other 5 beardies. she'll be my ugly baby LOL. so feel free to say what you think and express whatever feelings you have , i'm putting my big girl panties on and i will take it .
