Hyperactive beardie?

I love my beardie..and Im learning new stuff all the time. My beardie seems very healthy-all except for the glass dancing. It frustrates me that he practically tires himself out doing it. I've read here that it might mean he wants out so I do try to get him out but he's still quite young yet and skittish of me -Taking him out of the tank makes me very nervous. :? He hasnt tried to bite, but will occassionally gape when I hold him. He always calms down but after a bit I put him back in the cage - he's just so active, Im afraid he'll leap from me and injure himself. He literally runs about all four corners of the tank and will climb the rock wall as well.

Any thoughts, similarities, suggestions?

106 on the hot side, 86 on the cool side. Hes also doing his glass dancing on the hot side mostly, then he'll scamper about the cage.

MY BEARDIE RECENTLY STARTED DOING THIS TOO. ALMOST ALL DAY. HE IS 10 MOS. HES RUNNING AROUND LIKE A NUT, SCALING THE WALL DIGGING AT THE NEWSPAPER AND PUSHING HIS FACE INTO THE GLASS WHILE MOVING IT UP AND DOWN AND TRYING TO CLIMB THE GLASS. IS IT MATING SEASON MAYBE AND HE SEES HIS REFLECTON IN THE GLASS AND THINKS ITS ANOTHER DRAGON? ITS PRETTY FUNNY TO WATCH BUT IS IT NORMAL IS THE QUESTION. I CANT WAIT TO SEE WHAT RESPONSE YOU GET TO THIS.

how old is the dragon...106 is high unless they are a hatchling....I would try bringing temps down on the hot side to see if there is any change. To me, it sounds like he is to warm

The dragon is quite young. He's 2-4 months at best. I bought him at a pet shop. Everyone was telling me to Raise the heat as I had it at 90 degrees before. He also does most of the dancing on the hot side. This temperature adjusting thing is crazy!

just curious...did he exhibit this behavior when the temps were 90? I would try to reduce the temps to at least 100 to see if there is any change. They use the heat to digest their food so even if after eating you can raise the temps just to see if behavior changes.

He used to do the dancing on the back glass of the tank, when I placed one of those picture things on the glass he'd stare at it and try to leap into the pic so I removed that and got one of those foam rock walls. The glass dancing stopped for a while (all of that was when the temps were at 90 degrees) and that was when folks were saying that 90 was too low. I purchased a digital therm to be sure of the temp and made it so everything was perfect.

Today his site is registering at 101 (cold side 82) - he is bouncing off the walls on the hot side (this is also near where I sit). When he gets tired, he rests on the cool side for a bit and it begins again. I feel terrible. Im thinking maybe I can make some kind of playpen for him so I can take him out of the tank when he gets this wild and still keep him safe - I can think of nothing else.
