How to tame down a bearded dragon

Hello again,
So right now I am taking care of a beardie which is going to be a pet in a class at my local school. The problem is when I pick him up he holds on for dear life. He doesn't seem afraid of people because he has been handled in the past its just i want to calm him down beacuse he is going to be around children.

I personally wouldn't have him as a class pet... most class pets are not cared for properly so unless your going to do all the caring 24/7 then dont do it. Its not worth the risk, plus kids are very destructive and loud so its not the best setting for really any animal. And if you have a trouble maker in that class room it could end up costing the life of that beardie. Trust me I myself have been in multiple classrooms with kids who throw chairs and desks at anything and everything, schools are probably the most unsafest place on earth for a small animal.

Most beardies hold on for dear life because they are scared of falling when held from high places. Make sure your always sitting when you hold him or having him on your chest and you have your hand over him securely. Never put him on your shoulders, head or anything thats a good way to have a beardie with a broken back if he falls.

I know its not a great idea to have him in a class. But I have taught them everything i know and was there when they were installing the terrarium which is 4x2x3 foot. And I will be supervising them for the first few weeks. So no worries.
