How to not get an email for every reply

I like subscriptions to threads, but I can check them just fine without my cell phone going off every 15 minutes for a bearded dragon post. Is there a way to not get email for responses to subscribed threads? I looked through all the user settings, and turned all the notify me and who can email me and what not off, and still am getting messages, I just unsubscribed to all my threads

Yes. When you post or reply, there are some check boxes near the submit button (defaulted to notify). One of them is "Notify me when a reply is posted". You can change the defaults for the notification/subscription checkbox in the User Control Panel as well.

You can also explicitly unsubscribe to any topic you may be subscribed to already. At the bottom left of any topic is a link to do so. You can also manage these in the User Control Panel.

Also, you should only get notified of any one topic once until you visit it again.
