How to get rid of fruit flies? Plz help...

Well, there are fruit flies practically swarming Jenk's veggie and fruit bowl. Any idea how to get rid of them? They're really annoying. I know he can eat them, but he doesn't. What should I do?

Wine. Put a glass of red wine next to the viv, leave the viv door open, and they will all drown in the wine! That worked for us! (well my husband was not really happy to have to throw away some of his wine, but at least we got rid of most of the fruit flies)

I got this apple vinegar stuff poured a bit into a plastic cup, put saran wrap (dunno how to spell lol) over the glass and punctured 2 tiny holes. The next day, I saw an inch of dead fruit flies drowned in the apple vinegar.

Use a small shallow bowl, put apple cider vinegar with a squirt or two of dish soap in it. Saran wrap the top and poke some holes in it. I did it last year and it worked fantastically. This year I never saw any flies in it, but they had gone away. So I went to throw it out and discovered it was full of dead flies (they had sunk). They drink the vinegar, then the soap weighs them down...

if u have plants in the house, they can also breed in the moist soil. Had a problem with this with my ekkies fresh fruit. Granular systemic bug killer in the soil will kill them and keep them gone for 6-8 weeks. won't hurt the plants, but keeping kids and pets away from the soil is a good idea.
