I'm 20. The skate shop I'd go to had a dragon that we'd always feed and stuff, that was about 6 or 7 years ago. Ever since than I've wanted my own, just never pulled the trigger on one til rescently.

I'm 15, got my first beardie (Ella) for my 12th birthday, and my 2nd beardie last week :D

That's awesome!! Do you like taking care of them? Do you think it's a lot of work? I just bought one for my daughters Best Friends birthday. She gets him in a couple weeks. I just wanted to make sure he was ok before turning him over... she will be 15, but I worry that it may be too much work for her... Do your parents help you out a lot, or do you do it on your own?

I LOVE taking care of them! They are alot of work, but its really rewarding. My mom will help me out if I'm really broke every now and then, which is rare. But I have 2 beardies, 2 bunnies, a turtle, 2 cats, a guinea pig, and fish and frogs that I take care of and support by myself. (it costs about $30 a week, I babysit and make decent money) For the most part, it depends on the person. If shes responsable and dedicated, a beardie will be perfect. She also will need money, as babies crickets get expansive because they need so many, but theres also lights and vets and ect.

That's awesome that you take care of all those animals. Says a lot about the kind of person you are. Your parents must be proud.. I am starting her off with some reptiworms, 500 of them, and then she will have to get the food herself. I also bought her the UVB and the tank, so she's all set for the first month or less of food... You live in Mass.. so do I. Very cool. (Literally)

My mom and I mostly love on her. So she and I take care of her. What's funny is we rescued her from a deploying solider since we use craigslist.com. But she is super sweet and really easy to take care of. And when she gets tired she curls up on me and falls asleep. But to answer your question no she isnt hard to take care of and my mom and I share her even though she sleeps in my room

The beardie was $50 from the petstore.. I already had a 20 gallon viv, and a UVB light.. And I will buy the first round of reptiworms for her.. Then she's on her own :D

I will also be giving her my 40 gallon breeder once I get my new custom viv built.. so I guess all in al it was a pretty expensive gift...

Well, I'm 55 so I guess I am the grand old man of this thread. I've kept reptiles all my life, and we have parrots too. Our new Beardie is Scarlett ("Scary" for short) and we are all crazy about her here in the family. She is a really active animal, and very alert. When you walk up to her Viv she looks you right in the eye:

Looking to build a new viv for them pretty soon. Ive kept Aquarium fish all my life, probably had 6 or 7 tanks so far but only running 3 now. :D

I'm 18 and have had my gorgeous beardie 3 months, he's my first but I already am dying to get a second.. they are somehow addictive! Although I don't have the space or the money to get another yet :( I can see myself having them for the rest of my life now.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
