How many reptiworms??

Can anyone give me an idea how many reptiworms I can plan on my 2 month old dragon eating per day? I understand that it will be an approximate. Right now I have the SMALL size (150count) and trying to plan on how long those will last. Then wondering if I need to order more and the large size next time. Any thoughts would be appreciate. He is very new to us.

I've never let mine gorge on them. 30-45 a day when ours was that old plus 10-15 small canned crickets. Ours is about 5 months old now and gets 20-30 large a day plus 10-15 medium canned crickets. 20-30 medium cricket per week dusted with vitamin.

So figure at least 40-60 per day small. I'd order 700(small) or so at a time right now. Should get you through about 10 days.

I would test first to make sure he likes them and then figure out how much he eats a day and multiply that by X days and then order that amount. Harley liked repti/phoenix worms when she was really small but then they kinda fell outta favor with her. I never feed them as a staple though. They were just breakfast for her with a couple pieces of greens when she was 6 weeks old. During that time she would only eat prolly 10 or so for breakfast. Also unless you got a wine cooler, ordering big amounts could end up as a bif waste since they will turn into black pupae in a week or 2 depending how warm they are kept. And trying to get most beardies to eat black pupae is work. I could get Harley to eat em if I dropped em in front of her when she was pretty hungry and she would grab em, otherwise she would just look at it and then look at me like saying "why are you trying to feed me a piece of poop!?"

Personally if I were you and assuming you aren't squeamish about roaches, try dubias. They are much more meaty and pretty much all beardies love em. And they will make your beardie grow like a weed. Harley went from 6 inches to about 12 inches in just over 2 months with dubias as her staple. of course she eats like a little pig(30-45 dubia a day with greens). They also last a lot longer than reptiworms.

Look into the feeders section on how to " grow reptiworms" you'd be amazed how big they get. Your beardie will get lots of nutrition and your wallet won't hurt too much I bought 1000 medium reptiworms, I put 500 in a cooler with ice to last longer and the other 500 in the small critter cage with whole wheat bread and organic baby food. After a week of feeding them this is how they compare

As for how many to feed, feed as many as they'll eat in a 15 minute period. Branch out to 3x during the day. I feed Dany salad and a few crickets at 6am, more crickets in the afternoon, then the worms at 6pm (always make sure they still have 2 hours to bask before lights go out. Again this is just an example, it's been very successful for my baby girl but use your best judgement
