How long until Adult Dubia start to breed

I shake them into a cup, inside the bin using smaller pieces of egg crate and tweezers to shoo them of the crate if need be. The one escapee so far, the hubby actually picked it up. The little ones don't bother him, It's the big scary ones he doesn't like! And, now your freaking me out with the "into the laundry" thing! God I hope not! LOL I'm just really glad these things can't fly!

It reminds me of June Bugs....and I hate those suckers.
And I wonder what it is about the males....they are the ones that creep me out as well, even though I had one crawling all over my leg yesterday :lol: but I put winter gloves on to hold them, I had to catch 2 to give to a friend to feed her beardie.

that's funny! I have my large nymphs I bought morphing into adults all the time.... So I decided to give 2 of the males away to a friend for his adult dragon.... you should of seen me trying to pick them up... I got one to fall off a small piece of egg crate and the other I grabbed by the tip of the wings and threw into the cup! Then I shuddered for about 2 min with the creepy crawly chills....lol

I see the pic & know they don't bite so it can't be that bad.... Kinda like skydiving... Looks like fun but once 10k feet up and the door opens.... Would I jump.... Or run to the other side of the plane?

I started about 2 months ago with 100 large nymphs from Ian and they came with 25 adult pair i think? plus over count. All nymphs were adults in a week or so maybe two or three at the latest. At first i had them on the low in the 80's and in a month some of the females had litters Then i added 300 more mixed and they came with like 25adult pairs and i bought an extra 20 or so females. Fed those extra males and some of the mixed size. And added the extra nymphs and around 50 more adult females. Since the first batch and the ones i got a month later most of the large medium nymphs are adults and i feed extra males so i have around 3 females per male. With all those fat adults and my new roach rack i bumped temps around 87 and just before i got on here and read this post i sorted out around 500 fresh babies .

Advice more, more, more is always better and then sit back and weight. Keep temps high and lots of food.

Well female dubia will give live birth about once a month to about 30 babies. If there are any males, then they will breed. You can find more info at my blog.

:shock: Lance, You have BIGGER ONES? OMG! I thought the 2 males and 4 females that I have were gigantic! And now you tell me they get BIGGER!?! :shock: Again, EEEWWWWWWWWW! I'm still going to get several more trios, but, geez, any bigger and they could carry away small dogs and children! I think I'm also buying a pair of jersey gloves!

I can remember back when I first got into roaches I recieved my VERY FIRST order of them and it had a couple males in it that when I opened the box literally ran up my arm, poked me in the nose and said "What... you got a problem man?" (In a Venezualan accent of course). I geeked since I'm not a bug person! So I know what you guys are going thru, especially not having them for that long. You know what you need to do to get over your fears... Go pick up an Adult Hissing Cockroach. Seriously... They are AWESOME! And about 2" bigger than an Adult Male Dubia. After that you'll be chucking the males around like it's going out of style. I promise.
