Congrats on ur new beardie! First it can take longer than just 4 days to settle in, or i wouldnt freak out or anything yet :) Secondly, Id def double check ur temps. Is that a dial thermometer in the pic? they can be off by up to 20 degrees. Get u a probe thermometer or an infrared gun to check ur temps. Make sure ur basking spot is in the 100-110 range and then the cool side is around 75-85.

What kind of UVB bulb are u using? How close can he get to it?

What kind of substrate are u using? Is he using the bathroom?

It could be any small thing. Tell us about ur setup some more and Im sure we can give u some pointers and get those stress marks to go away :)

Again congrats! he/she is a cutie! I miss mine being that small.

Okay, so i have a 40 gal tank, 150 watt basking bulb, a 60 watt night bulb because my house gets real cold at night. and no its not keeping him up she sleeps like a log until almost 9 in the morning!! i have repticarpet or whatever it is called. she eats small crickets daily, mealworms every other day and is offered greens daily (although she rarely touches them) Her basking spot temp is 104 and her cool side is 81. I got the UVB Zilla coil bulb before knowing that was a bad idea so hopefully tomorrow i will be getting the Reptisun10.0. i really hope its just stress from moving because i only got her on christmas.

I am a new to the beardie world, we got my 7yr old son one for Christmas. What am I looking for when it comes to the stress marks?

Lose the red light. It does hurt their sleep quality even though they appear asleep. I used to have one and I replaced it with a (0 watt heat emitter and I saw a huge improvement in temperament and appetite. Also meal worms are no good. Their shells are too hard and could cause impaction.

Most babies wont eat their greens at 1st, just keep offering them daily, it may just be a bite or 2, but eventually he.she will eat them. And it could very well be the uvb bulb thats causing the stress marks, Im glad uve decided to get the reptisun 10.0 TUBE. those coil ones hurt their eyes and can cause blindness! Ur much better off to just leave it off until u get ur reptisun and get t hooked up. Also, I agree mealworms are a no no, they carry an impaction risk. So def not worth it, plus they have very little nutritional value. so pretty pointless to feed anyway. That 40 gal could also be over whelming her, u may want to block part of it off until she gets bigger. But def switch ur uvb and stop the mealworms. Im sure her stress marks will be gone in no time. I too fell victum to buying a coil bulb bc that what I "needed" per pet store advice. Went thru the stress marks and wondering what was wrong, switched the bulb and had a totally different acting dragon! It rlly is amazing how much the lighting effects them. But I imagine itd be like us staring at the sun, and Im sure Id be pretty miserable too, lol. Also u didnt say what kind of thermometer ur using, I just want to say again that if ur using those dial ones (that stick on the glass) cause that what it looks like in the pic, u want to consider getting either a probe or infrared one instead. The dial ones arent accurate at all.

Again congrats! Keep us updated? Have u named him/her yet?

My little sister actually named her. She picked Boise like the college for some reason haha. And yes so ive heard about these thermometers. Tomorrow im going to the petstore and walmart, getting the Reptisun because the one i bought is broken, getting the more crickets, a ceramic heat emmiter, and digital thermometer. Thank you guys for all the help!!! Today i put her crickets in her kale bowl and she ate both the crickets and the kale!!! haha well thanks again

Be careful putting crickets in the tank. Your beardie is a baby so you probably have very tiny crickets, however they do tend to escape and hide. Crickets are nocturnal and will nip at your beardie while they sleep. Beardies sleep very soundly. I feed mine in a Tupperware container outside the tank.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
