How do I feed crickets?

Hi! We just got a 2.5 month old dragon, Jeff, yesterday. We put a couple of crickets in the tank but he didn't eat any and the crickets hid under his basking log and tree. We thought the missing crickets were eaten, but just hiding.

So we thought maybe just putting them in there was wrong?? Should we use tweezers and hold the cricket in front of his face? But how do we do that without maiming the crickets and wasting them if he still doesn't eat them?

He pooped yesterday and today and he's very active. He did eat a few greens. And we have pellets in there.

Any advice on how to feed crickets is appreciated! Thanks!!

He is still stressed from relocation, don't worry if he isn't eating yet. Never leave crickets in the enclosure with him as they can be dangerous. Just dust the crickets and put a few in at a time, as many as he can eat in 10 minutes 2-3x per day, or it may be easier to put him in a smaller plastic tub with crickets and let him eat for 10 minutes then put the rest back.

I agree that it's easier to offer just a few at a time and repeat as he shows interest in more. I put bugs in a yogurt cup with some calcium supplement and shake them around to get a nice even coat, then release a few at a time into the tank. This makes it easier for both of us to track them and I can retrieve extras at the end of the meal if need be.
