How can I seperate my 2 Dragons?

I bought 2 dragons not too long ago and have been keeping them together in the same 40gal tank. They have been nice to each other so far but i know that soon i will have to seperate them, and now that one has been out growing the other, i know i have to find a way very very soon before the big guy starts picking fights.

i have a 40gal tank one side is themed tropical with plants and leafs and wat not and the other side is desert. now i notice that my little one loves the leafs he never moves out of them unless food is his goal. I was thinking of getting somthing that would split the 40gal into 2 halfs... keep the themeing the same and everything but just have them seperated on their own sides.

I know that i should just buy another tank.. but i didnt know that dragons became hostile towards each other until i found this website; i was misinformed by the petsmart lady... she told me that they get along fine and that they will play with each other... i guess i was punked but dont regret getting them both... i love them both just dont want to have to come home to a injured or even a dragon that has become MIA..

If you guys know anthing that i could use... somthing fairly cheap... to divide the tank into two.. im not really trying to get another 40gal... dont really have the room or the money atm.

Go to Michaels or an arts or crafts store, heck maybe even wal-mart will have it. They have foam board that's about an inch thick, just cut it to size and slid it on in there. Dude and Girl shared the same tank separated this way for quite some time until I got her her own tank. Just make sure they can't see each other and that they're both getting proper exposure to UVB and basking spots.

You will eventually need to get another tank though, as a shared 40 gallon is much too small for two adult beardies.

In the meantime, keep an eye out on craigslist. Good deals come along quite often. I just got a 55 gallon tank for $25 :shock:
