Okay so I'm a teenager who had an obsession with Bearded Dragons. I was finally able to purchase 2 of them on the 1st of July, and they were both about 2 weeks old. Mufasa is a tad but bigger than Zeus, but not by much.
I currently have a 40 gallon tank, but there is a piece of plexiglass separating the two Beardies. I have two separate basking lights, and a UVB light reaching both basking spots. The temps are always in the high 90's to lower 100's during the day and go down to low 80's at night. ReptiCarpet is their substrate, amd they have pretty regular bowel movements. They both eat a regular scheduled amount of crickets and veggies everyday, and are very adventurous when out of the tank.
Growing up, they both would lay on top of each other every now and then, but no big issues. It wasn't until last week that I put the plexiglass between them, because they began to head bob a little bit. I figured this was the best idea, since I can't really afford another entire closure.
When I have both of them out of the tank, they each explore my room with no issues. Although, when they are both on the hammock they look at each others reflections in the glass and Zeus (smaller) becomes stressed. It seems to always happen.
I understand that in the future I may have to separate them, especially since they are still too young to determine the sex. Although for now, does anyone have any tips for decreasing the stress for both of them? Zeus almost always has marks on his belly, and I just don't know what to do to help him.
Any help is much appreciated.
