hornworms as a staple diet

It's just my opinion of course, but I don't feel that ANY "worm" is viable as an ONLY staple feeder.

None of the worm types let you gutload them the way you can with Dubia and Crickets, so I think
that any of the worms would be lacking in some nutritional values, and that makes them invalid
as an only staple feeder, even Phoenix Worms.

A a staple along with other varieties of worms, sure...variety can help cover any gaps.
As supplemental feeders along with properly gutloaded Dubia/Crickets, absolutely.
By themselves and only themselves, no.

IMO at least.

That is a good thought process, I use phoenix worms as a staple, but I still feed my guys crickets too just not everyday and the crickets I gut load. I just order dubias to try and start a colony, right now I'm waiting for them to come alive as I just received them and they are hibernating (I hope, some of them have started to move, I am hoping I don't have to many DOA's).

I think as a staple, yes... Like if they are in the regular rotation of different worms/insects, that'd be fine.

I wouldn't feed them exclusively, though. Gotta have some variety!

I do have a substantial Dubia Colony as well but would like to do like half and half I'd like to see if I can get the horn worm to go full cycle as well Egg to Moth Moth back to egg

I think its a great idea to do both of those!

I personally do Dubias and Superworms (mainly because any other worm just doesn't seem to interest Stella - I haven't tried hornworms with her yet, though).

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
