Can someone please tell me how to use honey for my beardies eye infection? My little guy Flynn, he's about 5 months old has an eye infection. He has been keeping his right eye closed for the past two weeks and in the mornings he wakes up with a clear white gooey discharge. I took him to the vet and he said Flynn had a slight infection so he was prescribed
an antibiotic called Enrofloxacin to give him every other day along with some probiotics, but the vet didn't give me anything to put in/on his eye. I've read that Raw honey helps. Do I apply it INSIDE the eye like you would with eye drops or on top of the eye like an ointment? I've been clearing the gooey stuff out of his eye with just warm water everyday. I want to do all I can to help SOOTHE his little eye while the antibiotics take effect. should I use the honey or just leave it alone and let the antibiotics do their thing?
Flynns Setup
40 gallon tank
newspaper substrate
Reptisun 10.0 T8 UVB
zoomed repti basking spot lamp 100w
basking spot gradient of 97-105 degrees F
coolside 82 degrees F
