Hi there. I am new to the forum world. I am wanting to gain insight in the world of beardies and of course to make new friends with those who love beardies as much as I do. I am getting involved in rescuing and rehabing bearded dragons. I am wanting to find homes for the dragons once they are better. I own 3 healthy dragons of my own and I have successful rehabilitated one dragon (who is now part of my breadie collection) who I got at a local pet store. She was 3 years old when I got her and she was small, skinny, and had MBD. But with much love and care she is a healthy beardie now. I am now working on 2 other beardies that were neglected. This one has severe MBD and there is no chance for his limbs to get better and he was skinny (he was a day or so of being put down); he too, is thriving! He gets around well and another one of my success stories. The other beardie is in the beginning stages of MBD. It's mouth is all soft and it looks like its head is cruching in because of lack of calcuim intake, I am hoping that he or she will be able to use the limbs like a "normal" dragon one day. I will post pictures so all can see. My mission here is to be an advocate for any dragon that is not properly cared for. No animal should have to go through any pain or suffering! I hope to get acquainted with many of you who share in my mission. Thank you--- KAREN

Welcome! And thank you for your work in rehabbing dragons. I am starting school to get my prereqs to become a vet specializing in herps. I am hoping to do reptile rescue as well. I currently have 9 of my own with one on the way. 4 were rescues. 1 was bought from my fav store, two were bought at a reptile show, 2 were hatched in our closet (walk-in) and one more egg should hatch in May.

LIL BITS: 1st Rescue (and my reason 4 rescuing others dragons), She was 3 yrs old when i got her. She lacked calcuim intake, proper lighting and starvation. She has MBD.(B4 pic)

LIL BITS: NOW! I had to give her liquid calcuim, powdered calcuim, pedialite (daily) and worms (all kinds). And she is now one of my success stories! It took less than a year to get her to at a healthy state. Lil Bits goes to reptile shows to educate others.

Oh my goodness...those b4 pictures break my heart!! People just don't think of the animal anymore, but of how much fun--for about a day--that animal could be. then the animal suffers  BUT I am so glad there are people like you in the world to save these poor babies. I would love to get into the same thing!!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
