i have a 40 gallon tanl with a 10.0 uv light,100w basking light and for night a 100w infared bulb i feed him crickets twice a day an let him eat as many as wants within 10 minutes i sprinkle repti-calcium on the crickets i also put collard greens and turnip greens in for him every day and i cut them real small and i also give him a bath every day because its the only time he will poop . Also i would love to put pictures of him on here but i cant seem to figure out how to do it
Seems like you have everything right, but you do not need the 100w infrared bulb at night, it disrupts their sleep patterns. If you are having trouble keeping the temps above 65 degrees F at night, It's recommended that you purchase a Ceramic Heat emitter to place on top of the cage. a CHE does not produce light, but rather heat for him. Any questions, just reply here!
Also: Make sure that the crickets are no bigger than the space between his eyes.
Thanks again for letting me know that didn't turn the infared on tonight an he went to sleep pretty quick normally hes up for awhile. Appreciate you letting me know
you should start a growth chart on your laptop.. it's neat seeing how fast they grow and pics at the times you post info, they grow sooooooooo quick.. my 6 mo. old male is now almost 17" and still shedding regularly...
I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
