Hi all,
I wanted to introduce myself, and brand new beardie: Obi-Wan. I've been a lurker on the forums for a couple of weeks now, and I was trying to decide between a ball python and BD. I'm really glad I chose a Beardie. A little about myself: I'm a 29 year old dude from West Virginia living in Arlington, VA only a few miles from Washington, DC. I just got Obi-Wan today from a Petsmart. I feel like I kinda rescued him from there. There were so many kids tapping on his window.

I have one question: he has some little stripes on the his underside. I don't know if you all will be able to see them in the pictures I post. Are those stress marks or are they normal coloration, and if they are stress marks do they go away?

Glad to hear you rescued Obi from Petco and that you found this website. Since you've been reading for a few weeks you probably know all about what to provide for your berdie. With all the correct supplies and info I would imagine most of those marks will go away after a few days. Every Petco dragon I've seen has those stress marks. I believe they should subside considerably if everything is to his liking. Look forward to lots of pictures and updates from Mr. Kenobi.

Yeah, he has been pretty lazy since I brought him home. I have a lower heat night bulb that I have on him right now, and he is sleeping on his basking cave. He did eat two crickets earlier so I think that's a good sign.
