well i was told you need at leats 100 females and around 20-30 males which will take at least 4 months to get going. from babies they usually take 4-6 months to mature.
I got 80 females and 25 males with 500 mix about 2 months ago and its still not enough. These amount that ppl are selling as breeding kits are just to small. With an amount like that you are looking at waiting about 6 months before you can feed from it.
But.
Keep in a rubber made with a hole cut out with screen covering it with egg crate flats standing up.
Keep humidity high. ( take a water bottle and fill with paper towels and water then poke holes in it and put it in tank. works great)
Use water crystals so the roaches dont drown.
Keep temps around 90
The breeding bin can be fed about anything. Your feeder bin(when you have enough to make one) will need to be fed gutload foods. Feed them things you want to feed your dragon.
If you go to the Feeders section of this site there are tons of post about breeding and care for dubias.
Yeah I realise I probably should have posted in the feeders section. I think I might wait until I can afford more after I have ordered these so it takes less time for them to breed. (they are hard to find and kind of expensive for me). I only have 1 bd though. Couldn't I just mist the enclosure for humidity?
Yea misting works also but the breed much better if left alone thats why I prefer the water bottle method. Misting must be done everyday the less you bother them the better.
Forgot to mention. There is a guy on here that sells 25 usd for 500 smalls. I dont know the size of your bd but that is something to consider since its less than half of what most other ppl want to charge. He goes by JDroaches in the for sale section. Just so you can gage how many you need my 3.5 month old can down upwards of 1100 a month. each adult female can produce about 30 every 2 months.

I have switched to ordering all of my roaches from him. I was using West Coast Roaches, and they are great. However, JDroaches' smalls are a little larger, not big, just not 1/8 inch, and MUCH cheaper. Right now it is $28 shipped, because you need a heat pack. I have ordered from him several times, all this season, and have never had a dead roach.
