Hey.
My beardie Roger is a young adult. Ive been having some problems for the past few days and am trying to diagnose whats going on. I recently moved Rogers aquarium up onto a dresser. Its 55 gallon tnk with a bsking lmp and two reptisun 5.0's Rogers been actng very strange he hsnt been eating much. I was feeding him super worms and veggies for a few days and he quit eating. He refused to eat worm anymore so I put him bck on crickets thinking that was the difference. The moment I put crickets in yesterday he rn for them ate 9 or 10 and was very enegetic and happy. However when I got back from work today he is very dark colored, wrinkley(which from my understanding is dehydrtion), and unenergetic. I was oping someone might have an idea. There were few changes tht happened right around when his syptoms strted.
1. He cage was moved
2. His cage was cleaned by my father with antibacterial soup
3. His diet changed to mostly worms.

Please get back to me asap. Thnk you

This could just be due to relocation stress, and/or changes in his diet.
Make sure you try and bathe him everyday until he seems to get better. What type of substrate is he on?

As ffar as the bulbs... they are about a month old tube style
as far as substrate I'm using the reptile carpet but if there is a better suggestion I'm up for it. I know how closed quarters the substrate topic is on this forum but I would like some suggestions.

Good, Good you have the reptisun tube, good choice. Also, the repticarpet is a keeper, good choice on that also.

anyone know the cause of the skin being wrinkley? Dehydration? Or why my beardies poop would be really watered down and soft?

I do not think wrinkly skin is dehydration. Zinger (my bd) has some wrinkles on his side and always has rather lage-normal urates.

Hello,

The skin being wrinkly can be due to dehydration, or possible upcoming shed.
The urates or stool being more watery can be caused by taking in alot of water or greens, which is not a bad thing. Unless his stool is really smelly then I would not worry about it too much then.
Your UVB source is fine. What type of basking light are you using? How far is the UVB light from him?
He also could be trying to slow down due to the wintertime weather as well. How old is he?

He's about a year and a half. I was just using a conventional house 100W bulb for the basking. As fr as it being very smelly...yes it is very smelly and hes barely eating any crickets. He used to eat between 8 and 15 in ten minute period now I'll be lucky if he eats 2 or 3 nd the rest just run around and die in the cage. Any ideas?

Hello,

Yes, you need to get a fecal done on him, as the stool is really smelly his coccidia levels are probably a little elevated which is why his appetite is not very good right now.
How is he doing today? Try to get some oral fluids into him if you can, with a plastic syringe or a plastic dropper.
Let us know how he is doing.

He looks somewhat better when I let him out of his cage and let him look around his head will go to a very colorful tan and orange but when he gets back into the cage he has doesnt eat and barely moves. Even when he is out and about now he finds someplce dark to hide and sleeps. I'm getting very worried

You can take a fecal to any vet, all animals can get pinworms and such, so they know how to do the tests. This is, as far as I know, the best resource for finding exotic vets: http://www.herpvetconnection.com/. It may turn into a bit of trial and error, however, the closest reptile vet I trust with my kids is about 3 hours away.

Hello,

Well, at his age, he is most likely trying to go through a little brumation on you. That is what they do at older ages, & he is a young adult. Your UVB light is practically new, so that is not the problem.
Is his tank bright enough?

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
