My Juvenile bearded dragon was accidentally injured by my older dragon. It was a complete accident my juvenile (Carl) fell off my hand and onto the floor and before I could grab him my older beardie (Styxx) bit his head. Now the issue is I can't tell if he's blind in his one eye or it's just scratched and needs a lot of time to heal. I live in a small town in NJ that doesn't have any reptile vets close enough or cheap enough to go to at this time. Carl is acting fine, he eats well, does almost everything as he did before his accident but since then I noticed his one eye is almost always closed or that when it's open the eye just looks well different. Is there anything I can do for him? I feel terrible enough that something bad happened to one of my babies that it would be nice to only hear helpful not hurtful things right now.

Go to a gnc or other health food store and buy some raw honey and dab it on the wound. It has a natural antibiotic in it and will protect the wound from infection and make it heal much faster.
Not meaning this in a hurtful way but, never have them out at the same time, as you can see, it can lead to bad things in a hurry. You are not the first one this has happened to, so dont beat yourself up over it.
Sorry about your little buddy. Hope he gets to feeling better soon.

PS The eye might be OK just tender right now, time will tell.

Thank you. I've had them out together numerous times. They were both friendly to each other every other time.
But I looked at the eye with a light and the pupil won't dilate or well even change. Would the honey help that or is he completely blind in that eye? :( ugh I hate even asking that I feel like a terrible parent.

The honey will help the healing process tremendously but only time will tell with the eye, sorry but I really don't know what will happen on that end.

Oh no, that's not good, hope the little guy gets better, ? Search for the clossest reptile vet, find out, I highly suggest you find the closest one and somehow get him to it, just to make sure; do as much as you can to keep him healthy, ? Hope he gets better

The only vet for him is 2 hours away and it would cost $200 for a visit. I can't afford that ☹️ He's doing good though.

Hello,

I am sorry that happened to your youngster. It is so fast that most times you can't prevent it.
The raw unpasteurized honey will help if is infected or irritated. Is it swollen at all?
Since it doesn't dilate when you shine a light on it then it's hard to tell right now whether or not he will be able to see out of it eventually. Maybe once it heals up his sight will come back.
How bad was the bite, was it pretty deep?
I am glad to hear he is eating well. Is he basking normally too?
Let us know how he is doing.

His eye isn't swollen, it's a tiny bit sunken (maybe like a hair off of its normal not noticeable if you're not really looking.)
The bite only scratched the scales and only bled a bit. The only way you can tell it happened is the scales are a bit darker where it happened. He's doing everything normal. It's just the pupil isn't dilating and he has it open a bit more and more everyday but it's not open fully for long. It's like he's always squinting.

This is what it looks like. Completely normal basically but a bit off. (He's shedding now so the marks are way way lighter!!)

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
