I wish I had an answer for you on the canned stuff, but I don't. I would however suggest stocking up on baby food and having at least prunes and applesauce on hand so when you need it it's there. These are both for constipation. Also, for when they aren't feeling well, having squash, green beans and (Zoey's favorite) turkey and veggies help. I just wait until the baby food goes on sale..this week I went out and bought 18 jars! Hey, it's easy to have it just incase you need it.
As far as shedding and
bathing, I give Zoey a
bath every night. Granted I have too much time on my hands, lol, but I worry about dehydration. I've found that if you can rub your little one's belly from between the front legs all the way down to the vent, carefully and very gently of course, it will get the poop moving. I did this the other day when she wouldn't poop and by the 3rd pass, she was pooping for me.
Also, offering water by putting a drop on her mouth and keeping it up until she doesn't want anymore will make a big difference. I do this no less than 3 times a day. Since I don't mist her in her viv (I worry about humidity), it helps that I am able to
bathe her daily.
Rarely, but as a treat, I will give Zoey a few wax worms. She is just under 4 months old and they are very fatty, so just a few. Also, like any other food, make sure they are no bigger than the space between her eyes. But she LOVES them! She even crawled in the bag last time we got them. Scared the crap out of her when she looked up and realized she was in there and shockingly she only ate one!!
I hope I remembered everything...
