hi im brennan i got my beardie dimebag about 2 weeks ago he is still very young. ever scince i
got him when i try to hold him he will go on biting frenzy. then he will stop and start shaking like hes scared. he has early symptoms of mbd so i feed him more veggies and less crickets i orderd some pheniox worms so he can get some protien i need help to tame him and get used to me. also he dosent really eat vegges he just ignores that its even there. i tried putting a cricket in there but he didnt care. any tips would be appreciated.

the petstore guy said more vegges then my friend whos beardie had mbd just fed him crickets with calcium powder and he got better which one is better?

just keep ofering the veggies but don't feed less crickets- feed the same amount as you normally would for a beardie of his age, dusted with calcium powder and vitamins on the appropriate days / times. The phoenix worms will also be good as they are high in calcium. if he has MBD (which is often unusual in very young beardies, don't know how old he is), you can administer liquid calcium which is available online if he is not eating the dusted live foods

young bearded dragons, dont tend to eat salad but you should keep it in the cage fresh everyday as one day he will try it, stick with crickets and dust them with calcium powder it is unusual for such a young beardie to have mbd, try to ensure enough UV light also.

as for being skittish then he needs to adjust to his new home and then get used to you, he will learn your smell from feeding him daily then once he is more settled try stroking him in the viv then work your way up to holding him and then getting him out.

yea i gave him a bath today and he loved it. i held him and he stayed in my hand for like 15 sec he bit me alot when i was try to pick him up. i give him crickets with calcium but its the spray supplement which the crickets eat like water which i found out today. im also wondering what kind of log or tree i should get him to get closer to the uvb i have a 150w buld which he likes to sit under but i have a feeling it will get to hot and shatter over him. he dosent have mbd severly he just was showing symptoms in his toes twithcig when he would get on his rock when he basks he hasnt twitched like that in 2 days. he is about im guessing 3 weeks old. and is prolly 5 in long. mabey 6

this scared the **** out of me today i was gonna pick him up when his back legs lifted up and all four legs liked cramped up and he just layed there. does he have mbd? also i think he already had it at the petstore but my 14 day warrenty is up. so i cant take him back? i bought a reptisum 10.0 today which i hope will add extra uvb to the one i have which i didnt think gave alot out. its a zilla 150w. when he cramped up he like cried? i heard a litttle squeal. do they make noises or am i tripping?

Cramping legs can often be a sign of impaction. Have you noticed if he is passing food? Whether it is impaction or mbd you really ought to see a vet. These symptoms are not of a healthy bearded dragon. I know it's unfortunate having to spend that kind of money right after you've bought him but it's for the best. Good luck!

he didn do any twitching today. but he didnt poop today so mabry its impaction what is that?

basically, the poop can't process through the digestive tract. if he is 'shivering' and 'twitching', this is possible. warm baths and rub his belly some. please tell me he's not on sand? get him off sand NOW if he is.... sand kills dragons no matter what a pet store tries to tell you. you need a vet and i agree with the suggestion that you repost this in the ER section... if he gets bath to his regular health, pm me and i will tell you about a great food combo i use...
most chain pet stores suck and lie... the earlier you learn this, the quicker you will stop throwing away money.

nobody likes to see a dimebag go bad man... get this dragon healthy lol

no hes not on sand hes on carpet. he pooped yesterday but not today he usually poops everyday. ill pm u.
