I think so. He finally came down and went to his basking rock.

lol yah that wasn't my finest or brightest moment but hey if we all gotta laugh at ourselves sometimes

Don't worry, I've had those type moments before. Sometimes we get asked what kind of soap to use for a beardie bath. ;)

It's possible, LOL... so for reference:

We do not use soap Ivory, Dove, Dial or otherwise. :D

Hope that will do it.

So how is Mr. Attitude today?

he's good. he's sitting in my lap at the moment. Course he's fixing to have to go up so I can go and do load the dishwasher. He's been roaming about, exploring his branch. He's still a little dark today so not sure if that is just the dead skin starting to peel off or if he's a little stressed over the change with the branch. Though I wouldn't think so since he seems to really like it

Well if he is sitting in your lap, then I'd say his attitude is waning. Could be the shedding making him dark.

Gee, I'm sorry I forgot to mention not to put him right under the basking bulb with the aloe vera gel on. Guess I was just thinking you would put it on after his bath before bed. Yes, please be careful with it and rub it in as much as you can, that way it can work all night long. Then in the am, you can rub the area with your fingers or a very soft toothbrush to get the aloe & skin to soften up. You might see some aloe particles floating in the bath, that happens. That was funny about the toothpaste. Speaking of soap though, we have recommended a little baby shampoo for a stinky beardie that has poop dried on but have to be sure to rinse it off very thoroughly & not to use near their eyes.

I love the log & it looks like Nomad does too. 8) He looks very proud, didn't see a smile yet though, lol. Good job picking just the right log. He's doing so well & I can tell that you & your wife are enjoying him again. Oh, did he try the mustard greens or have anymore grape juice?

I'll make sure to apply the aloe like that tonight. With any luck his shed will come off all the more easier. How long does it usually take for them to shed? I can tell he's been working on it though because I can't see any signs of it on his head anymore

lol yah I know. I haven't seen him smile too much these past couple of days. You got that right! Me and my wife are loving him. We go to the grocery store and I'll be shopping for him fresh veggies and fruits and she'll say something like "geez he eats better than we do" lol it's kind of funny. He still hasn't tried any of the mustard green he kind of blows it off. However today he did try an assortment of things. he's been a little pig today. He's ate 5 crickets that I know of,squash, bell pepper, apple, banana, plum and some broccoli. I tried to get him to try some more of the grape juice but once again when I put it on his nose and it dripped down he didn't pay it any attention. He doesn't have the greatest attention though. he'll be jumping frantically at the side which is how he usually gets my attention when's wanting food and when I drop it in he'll see my hand but for some reason just doesn't see the food right away. I'll let him either make his way back to that side again or I'll have to pick him up and put him right next to it and tap the carpeting then he'll notice it and gobble it up.

Good morning,

I just love the pic of Nomad on his new piece of wood, and I can already see his weight gain, (puggy muffin belly 8) ) and his contentment on his face, yipee!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shedding can take some time, when beardies are small, it seems like the shed comes off in big pieces and quicker; when their older, they shed in sections. Not always, but this is typical. My boy Pyrex has been shedding for weeks, one foot, top of his head, belly, etc. all one at a time.(he's a year old) I do as you do........ many baths with soft rubbing, he loves the help I give him through the process. I havn't used the aloe but I would if the shed wouldn't lift.

They do tend to slow down with eating during the shed time, as those have said, but I've spoiled them with hand feeding if I don't feel their getting enough. I'm sure we can all relate to that statement, lol

Well off to work again, TGIF, will check in later.

I love that he's fattening up! Just something about fat animals that are just too cute!

I think that is the way Nomad is going to be as well. Just have one piece shed at a time and going to take a bit. Well I'm here to help him out as much as I can with baths and the aloe.

lol I haven't even tried hand feeding him just yet. It's something I am gearing towards though before long. I don't have an animal that isn't spoiled to some extent.

Have a good day!

I know what you mean Christine,Jojo was never a good hunter so Ive been hand-feeding her crickets for almost 2 years now. She does eat her salad and supers on her own though (thank goodness  )

How is Nomad's color and appetite today?

His appetite seems to be pretty good. He's ate a few crickets and some fruits and veggies. For his color though he's a bit on the dark side but it seems a little lighter today. Must be stress though. He was dark in his tank but in his bath he's pretty light colored

On the upside I have him in the bath right now and he has a pretty good piece of shed off of him in it. Appears to have come off his right back leg. Were running late today with him. I've had a lot of stuff to get done and haven't been home much. Think though I am going to have to start bathing him in the tub or something. Although he has figured out how to jump out of the kitchen sink. I just looked in on him and he was standing on the edge of the kitchen counter. So glad he didn't fall or anything!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
