Hey guys, I post a week ago or so about Stanley. He is my baby boy beardie and had some light colored poop for about a week. Now his poop has gone to a runny state and he is very sleepy when in his tank and its freaking me out. He is very active when brought outside his tank. I know it's a possibility of parasites but I'm not sure. help please! I just read the post from a while ago about the powersun 100 and 160W bulbs. Is there still a problem with them? My little man has had symptoms like explained in the posts about not wanting to eat much, not peppy, and basking with eyes closed. When I take him out of the tank its all eyes open and running around so I'm thinking that is the problem. He is still in his 10 gal tank, and suggestions on the bulbs to replace the powersun?

We really do not recommend using a MVB in a 10 gallon tank - it is far too intense. That is very likely causing the problems. We recommend a minimum 40 gallon before using an MVB.

by the way I decided to shut off the powersun once I saw all the bad posts about that bulb and just have a 50W basking bulb on now until i can get into the city tomorrow to get him the right bulbs. He seems to be acting more normal now that the power sun is off.

That's good. You can use a ReptiSun 10.0 tube. But in all honesty, a 10 gallon tank is too small for any beardie of any age. You should really just tighten your belt and get the 40 gallon now - he will need it in a few months anyways. Then you can continue to use the MVB, or get a different brand MVB.

I have a bigger tank that is a 36"x 18"x 12" but haven't put him in there yet because I'm still trying to keep him unknown in my dorm room. If I get the 10.0 tube would it be okay to keep the 50W basking bulb or do I need a higher watt basking bulb?

As long as the 50 watt gets the proper temps, you're okay. Honestly, you're cramping him. It's really ashame you have to hide him in a dorm - are you moving out of the dorm soon? Is that why you got him? It seems like a dangerous situation if he is discovered...

I'll be out of the dorm the first week of may, we aren't supposed to have pets besides fish so I have to keep things pretty quiet concerning him.

Yea I understand that; pretty typical dorm rules. I think he'll be okay till then - just get the ReptiSun 10.0 tube. and mount it in the tank if you can.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
