I'm worried about Gummy, my leo. He has been having trouble while pooing. He has a problem with it sticking in his vent. It looks like he needs toilet paper. He will go poo, but doesn't seem to get it out cleanly. I don't know what to do. How can I help him clean it off, without hurting him? I hate that he has this problem, and hope you guys can help me fix it for him. Thanks!
Here is Gummy's Facts:
20gal tank
Under Tank Heater
temps 78 cool side, 90-93 warm side
Calcium dish/ water dish on cool side
food dish with PW, butterworms, silkworms, or mealworms with occasinal waxworms as a treat
3 hides, 1 cool, 1 moist, 1 warm
Substrate is slate tile, with a piece of repti carpet under his warm hide.
I take the temps with a diital therm. with probe, so I know they are accurate.
He doesn't like to use his moist hide, so maybe that is part of the problem? He drinks water every day. I replace it daily. So he shouldn't be dehydrated. I'm worried about him. Can you soak them in a warm bath like a bearded dragon? I will look into getting a fecal done if I can...my vet is a beginner at herps, and I dought she has seen any leos. My beardies are always a challenge for her. Any advice that I can use to help him now, is welcome!
