HELP! Pin Worms & Panacur

Dragon Mama freaking out!!!!!!!!!!

The doctor just called me and my sweet little baby dragon has PIN WORMS!!!! I think I need another beer. Where's the "Smilies" for beer?

She acts perfectly healthy!!! She plays and runs like an Olympic sprinter - eats like a horse, snuggles, basks, etc... She's also a rescue.

So whose dragon has had pinworms and used Panacur? She gets one dose tomorrow (courtesy of the vet) and her second and last dose two weeks from tomorrow.

Having a minor stroke - just tell me what to expect. Thank you and I love you all.

THats great that the vet is doing it! Kazi had pinworms about a year and a half ago. The vet did the first dose and then gave me the second to do at home myself... it wasnt too difficult.

Just make sure to give her some pro-biotics to take away the nasty affects of the meds

If you would be so kind, please be more specific on "pro-biotics" and administration and dosage of same.

Probiotics restore the good gut flora... you can use Acidophiliz which you can get at http://www.bug-de-lite.com/Products%20Page.html or you can use benebac which is usually available in the bird aisle of most pet stores. If you cant get either, you can use soy yoghurt. With the acidophiliz, give about half a dropperful every day between the treatments and for about a 5 days after the last dose. Im not sure about the benebac. With the soy yoghurt I give about half a teaspoon daily. Out of all of those options, acidophiliz would be my preferred probiotic.

Thank you. Her dosage schedule is as follows: One dose tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. The next dose two weeks from tomorrow. There are only two doses and I am not administering either of them (thanks vet).

Just one other thing - dont give the first dose of probiotics until at least 6 hours after the panacur dose (or even just start it the next morning) as it will counteract it.

However, I delve further: How does one get a dragon to eat soy yogurt? This intrigues me. Currently, it is 9:37 p.m. my time. I may reply 43 more times. If you're tired, off to bed you go - your tips have been amazing! And I thank you.

I just give soy yoghurt from a spoon. Sometimes I use the berry flavoured soy yoghurt - that seems to make them a lot more eager to try it!!

Haha! Bed? What is that lol! I fall asleep on the sofa these days (my little guy is not well and I get up to check on him too often so its best if I just stay down here instead of waking my hubby up 20 times a night! lol!)

Pinworms arent so bad (YES, of course they are better when they are not terrorising our poor babies systems!) - Kazi didnt really show any symptoms when he had them either! And the treatment is OK because its only the 2 doses so she should be absolutely fine!!
