Hello
I am sorry to hear about your other beardie not feeling well now.Is there common food between them?I checked out the video and she does seem a bit off balance but looking at her colors and energy she seems to be olding her own.I keep going back to she either hit her head or there is something parasitic goin although she could also have water in the canal as well.Does she go under the water when in the bath?Did you get a chance to do a fecal yet?I know how worried you are about this and I am sorry for that. Can you bring her into your office for some labs and an xray? That would be the best thing to help narrow down the issues but again I have seem much worse when it comes to neuroligical problems in beardies and many come flying through it so try not to panic,ok?I definately agree wit Tracie at this point up the calcium even if she is getting the phoenix worms and see if that helps at all.How is she tonight?

She is still really off balance, and "dizzy" but eeating and acting like nothing is wrong. Im really leaning towards ear infection...since nothing is wrong besides that. Hopefully she wont decline further. I cant do anything besides give it time. She pooped in the tub today, so im gonna run a stool sample in tomorrow and check it myself. Im not gonna do labs or anything unless she gets worse. I dont want to add stress to the mix.
I gave her some chicken/apple babyfood and some pedialyte just in case its hypoglycemia and mixed in some extra calcium just in case its hypocalcemia.
I also have some squash babyfood in case she needs some vitamins. Since shes not declining im feeling better about the whole thing, but im still freaked.

My other dragon that vomited seems fine too...but because of the timing im slightly concerned, but shes kept 2 meals down since. They all get the same food so i dont believe its a problem there and I checked with the phoenix worm store to make sure the stuff the worms are opacked in is safe.
I really hope it is as simple as an earinfection. From what i have read thy are usually self limiting.
Any othr ideas??

Hi
I am glad there isnt any decline and yes it quite possibly can be as simple as water in the ear.I think your doing great and as long as you keep a steady eye I am hopefull the issue will resolve itself however if you do start to see her decline or if it does not go away or decrease over the next few days then there really is no other option then getting labs done. There are some rare cases where beardie cannot absorb calcium correctly thus no matter how much you give they will still become calcium deficient which could in theory also cause these symptoms but without bloodwork its like taking a shot in the dark especially since the behavior she is showing on the video is so "minor"(in comparison to other cases I have seen not making light of the problem at all).

I wish I could get a better video, its not a good example...maybe i can get a betterone tomorrow
But my fingers and toes are crossed, and Ill do bloods if i need to for sure. I dont want to loose her. I think ses gonna be gorgeous. Her oranges are neon and the white is almost a greenish color, which I hear can mean its gonna color in nicely.
Plus shes really sweet. and poss het trans, which would be awesome if she was.
I just hope she pulls through.
If it is an ear infection or water in her ear, when would you expect to see improvement?

I did mean to mention how pretty she was but I tend to get caught up in my posts..lol :D She looks like a sweetie :D
If its just water in the ear then over the next day or so it should resolve itself but if its an infection(viral, bacterial, etc) she most likely will need meds.I am not a big fan of dosing meds which is why I wouldnt recommend putting er on anything without labs to rule things out.I am really curious to see what her fecal turns up as well because depending on the parasite count it can cause imbalances and twitching although it would definately have to be a very hig count.I think for thr time being taking it day by day is exactly the best route to take especially since it does not seem to be disrupting her.You might want to lay a towel down on the viv to help her keep her balance a bit and cushion any falls/slips.

shes doing pretty well with not falling at all...and if she does need meds i use injectables, sounds bad but its much less stressful and easier for me.
lets hope not though...

Hello,

How is your baby doing tonight? I would not give anymore baths right now until she improves. What is the humidity in your tank right now?
Sometimes if it is too low, their membranes can get dried out & it can cause problems such as balance issues. Continue to give fluids & a little extra calcium too that wont hurt her. At least she is eating & active. She is very very pretty.

Keep us posted on her!

I agree with Tracie no more baths until we can see if its an "ear thing".

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
