Ive had this girl for about 3 weeks now. Shes about 7 weeks old. Shes in a 20 gal with a spot (110 hot, 80 cool, checked with digital probe therm.) And has a reptisun 10.0
She gets phoenix worms in the am,
crickets in the pm, dandilion greens all day
She was fine this morning and when i went to feed her tonight, she lept across the tank at the food, missed and hit the glass. shes sort of staggering when she goes for the food, but eating like a champ still. she gets calcium w/ d3 dusted on the crickets every other day and herptivite once a week.
She is on tile and has a branch for climbing and can get as close as 2 inches from the uvb.
IM FREAKING OUT
what could be wrong?
HELP

Ok first thing I would do is get her in a bath to rule out dehydration.Sometimes when they are severly dehydrated it can cause them to become imbalanced. So its only today she is acting this way?How old is she?How often os she getting calcium?Your reptisun is a tube bulb correct? When your measuring basking temps you are placing the probe directly on the surface, correct? Are you sure she didnt fall? There are alot of things it could be ranging from a head injury to parasites to poor calcium, dehydration, enciphillitis, etc.I would like to try to rule some things out if possible thus the reason for all of the questions. Also please remove any high basking branches for now as you dont want her to take a fall and create a bigger issue.

It is a tube bulb, and shes 7 weeks old. She had a bath yesterday and I just gave her one a few minutes ago. I do temp on her basking area and on the floor of the other side. I dust her crickets every other day and she gets phoenix woms daily so calcium is not the issue.
I dont think she fell, ive been home all day and didnt see anything funny, but who knows.
As far as I know she has pooped, there were 3 normal poops on the bottom, i cleaned her cage on saturday and again just now so I can keep an eye on it.

Ok well the two biggest culprits I can think of at them moment is dehydration and possibly a parasite or infection especially since she is new her coccidia levels may ave gotten out of control from the relocation stress.A very bad case of coccidia can cause neurological side effects. Can you get her to the vet to get a fecal done? Also let me know how she does after the bath.Is she basking alot or a little? You said she is eating well correct?

Yeah, shes eating great. Ill bring a stool sample to work tomorrow and check it out, i hadnt done one on her because the breeder said she had, and it was negative...youd think id know better. I am gonna give her another bath tomorrow morning and mayb she will be better. If not, im not sure what to do. If its just coccidia or pinworms, then great, but if not...
Does Adeno cause symptoms like this? My understanding is that`they just sort of lay down and die with adeno.
Would it be dehydration even though she was bathed recently? Yesterday in fact...
It has been warm up here, but i checked the temp earlier and it was 110 at the closest point

Well it is possible her coccidia levels were fine but the relocation stress could have increased them so it is best to rule it out.In regards to Adeno there is a wide range of symptoms but generally more like star gazing and letargy however many beardies can live long happy lives with Adeno.I do not believe this particular symptom is going to be a result from Adeno although I cant tell you for sure.If the parasite load isnt high and the bath doesnt help then my next recommendation is to get her in for bloodwork to check her calcium levels and for any other possible infections possibly even an xray to rule out injury.Like I said previosly make sure to remove all high objects out of her tank to avoid further injury. When you say bathed recently, how recently? It still is possible as babies can dehydrate rapidly. She can get from 6-8 inches of the uvb correct?

Hello,

You mentioned that she can get 2 inches from the tube bulb? Is that all of the time? That is way too close & could be affecting her eyes & possibly balance. At that close range, it is harmful to her. Where is your basking light placed, & how far is that from her?
Could she have gotten any water in her ears during her bath?

No she can be as close or as far away as she likes, but the branch goes to about 2 inches from the top. She only sleeps there once lights are off. the basking branch is about 6 inches away from the light.
I guess she could have gotten water in her ears...i dnt know how i would tell...and im a vet tech...we dont have anything at wok that could even look in them

Ergh, my first post got lost in cyberspace. All I can tell you to do until someone else responds it to keep her warm and offer her warm baths to make sure she is staying hydrated. Also, I do worry that since she seems to be having some type of neurological problem, she could drown in her water bowl.

Hello,

How is your baby doing?
The calcium, you should increase to 5 times per week to make sure he is getting enough calcium. Your UVB light is fine though, no problem there.
I would be cautious giving too many baths in case water did get in the ears.
The herptivite you can give 2 times per week right now.
She could have hit her head in the tank which has caused her to have some balance issues as well. So no one in the office knows anything about reptiles?
What do her pupils look like?
As suggested, it could be a viral, or bacterial problem, but it sure did come on suddenly for it to be that.
Keep us posted on her. Do try to keep her warmer at night right now, until we figure out what is going on.

Im so worried. I just gave her a few drops of pedialyte with calcium powder mixed in. Im going to go get some squash and chicken babyfood to have on hand in case she keeps snubbing food. None of the vets I work with do reptiles, so I have some calls in to other vets in the area as well as a few "dragon masters"
Her pupils are normal, no nystagmus. Her timpanae appear normal. Her color is good, her respirations appear normal. Shes just off balance. Im going to try and pump her full of calcium and keep her lytes up...i dont know what else to do at this point.
Im so worried...
Not to mention my other dragon threw up her dinner last night, but is acting normal and ate this morning.
What is going on??

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
