Help. I think my bearded dragons gums are swollen!!

Okay ive had my dragon for almost a year now. He currently has gout so i give him medicine with a syringe. I do not let him bite the syringe as it could break his teeth although one time he did clip it. Today i was inspecting his gums and im worried they are swollen. Please help. I dont know how to post a picture on here.

Hello,

Is he on allopurinol for gout?
The gums could be swollen from giving medication via the syringe. Are you going in from the side when medicating him?
Pictures would be helpful too when you get a chance. Review what foods you feed him along with his tank setup is, also.
