Help for this dragon...

Hello Everyone,

I just saw this add for a beardie for sale on Kijiji (this is not my dragon to make it clear). It's in the Calgary, AB (canada) area and I am unable to help/take this beardie in... but my heart goes out to it... if anyone is to help it.... i feel so horrible for it :'(

I feel kind of bad suggesting this, but has anyone considered contacting the Alberta SPCA? I know they handle animal complaints of all kinds, maybe they could help little guy. I already sent a letter asking what types of cases they handled, just to get more info.

I sooo wish I was in Canada, Id take the poor fella in in a heartbeat. Hes so skinny and dull and looks like hes in deperate need of a soak or 2

Well, I tried. They won't do anything. Here's the letter they sent:

Good Afternoon,

Thank you for taking the time to contact us unfortunately we are unable to respond to every picture that is posted on the internet, in this case kijiji, as it does not depict the entire situation/condition. We are also not able to know when this picture was taken etc.

As you can appreciate we only have 7 Peace Officers to deal with animal neglect throughout the entire Province and therefore it is impossible to take action on all the adverts placed.

That being said if you are interested in this bearded dragon and decide to pursue or have someone attend the property on your behalf and they see the condition and still have concerns at that point then please call us with the details of your findings and we will assist you from there.

I have made a note on our system for the Peace Officer that covers the Balzac area so they are aware and if they would like to take further action they then can do so.

It doesn't depict the whole situation?!?! WTH?!?!?! I am so mad right now I want to SCREAM!!!!!!!! PLEASE guys...Maybe if enough of us write in to these people, we can get them to do something!

We cannot let this poor baby suffer. I'm not trying to tick anyone off or start anything, but I can't save this little guy, and the people who call him happy?! Well, I can't say what I really think. There are kids on these boards. But there's the info. I really think if enough people report it, someone's got to check it out. If not, GOD HELP ME I will go to a news network!

It seems the post is gone now, although there is a pair for 260 without a pic. Maybe the officer in that area did look in on the dragon, I hope, i hope, I hope! I hope it got help, and I know how frustrating these posts are. I can't look on Craigslist at this point because there are so many adults in bad condition, or tiny babies that come from breeding undersized, underaged dragons and I just get mad.

Yes, thank you for calling animal service... i hadden't thought to do that. I just hope perhaps he sold to someone who can give him a good home... i looked on sunday to see if he was still here and was considering taking him because i felt so bad.
