Hello there,
I am sorry that your beardie is not doing well, and by looking at those photos is way too small i thought he was only 2 or 3 weeks old. The best advice I can give you is to listen and to read as much as you can from this whole site it will help you greatly and ask questions if you are unsure. . you are very fortunate to have found such a caring site!!!!! My beardie is going through a rough time right now too, but becasue I got some bad advice on lights myself, i listened to everything people told me and it seems to be helping me greatly, I even went to a vet and he was NOT helpful at all, not compare to the knowledge that poeple have to offer especially the moderators!!! It is true the people at pet stores(no matter how nice or friendly) don't know anything about what can hurt a beardie and what can't they do not care its not their pet plus they are given bad advice from the management usually . . .
. . . i find it really easy to use non adhesive shelf liner or paper towels for substrate especially at such a young age . . its easy to clean and change out and cause way less chance for bacteria etc . . .as I have read and learned about my beardie along the way I agree completely with no sand in the tank until he gets much bigger and older i think someone said about 18 months old you can get washed and sifted play sand from home depot or other similar hardware store. I still however agree that sand causes way more problems than its worth beyong impaction. Also the coil lights are just absolutely awful . . i did start my little guy out with one of those again with bad advice from a pet store and after a week of having it, I found out on multiple sites that it can be very painful for them to have those lights, and is much better to get the long tube ones like a reptisun 10.00 . . . especially because your lights are pretty high above your dragon . . i would not get anything lower than a 10.0 so that they rays can reach him . . make sure he has a high spot he can go to to get close to the heat as well!!! I know these changes can be a little pricey at first but it is soooo worth it when you start to see your beardie flourish!!!! I would go to this site that someone once gave me to show you the effects that those coil lights can have on beardies causing all sorts of eyes issues!!!!!

please check out the site so you can see for yourself the harmfull effects those coil lights have!!!!!! i wish you the best of luck with your little one!!!!
