My boyfriend, Eric, and I just got our first bearded dragon, Oscar, about a month and a half ago. He's been awesome, and lately better than ever. The forums on this site have already helped me out big time, so i thought i should just join in

think either of you could estimate how old Oscar is?
he's almost 9 inches long, he was about 6inches when we got him and they didn't know exactly how old he was
just wondering

10-12 weeks maybe, thats the best guess i can give you. our BD was 6 1/2 when we got her and she was about 4-8 weeks old.

i'm not even sure myself if the pet shop was that positive about the hatching dates he gave us. so perhaps someone on here who has actually bred them can help. sorry

My dragon at 6 weeks was about 6 inches long from nose to tip of tail. of course it varies a little bit I am sure. The breeder told me she would double in size in a month. So I would say yours is probaby 10-12 weeks old. Hope that helps !

just go buy one or three maybe seven.... it can get out of hand. :wink:

this really is the best site i've found, and i've yet to see a question un-answered.. so you've got all your stuff, which is a good start lol, now all you have to do is get your dragon, they're are awesome so you shouldn't have any headaches!.. but if you do the discussion board is here for you!

okay so i have three cages the main cage is 5ft by 16.5'' by 17.5"

my second one is 46" by 30" by 30"

third is the smallest unknown dimmensions but will post

so i have everything i just need a dragon in washington state to start with any suggestions?

We got Oscar at petsmart. There were 3 employees that owned dragons, and it was the only local petstore where the dragons were well taken care of and healthy. I guess it would depend on what you have around you, but wherever you get your dragon, the store should know where the get there dragons from (preferably a local breeder), and at least enough information about them to be able to answer your questions. And the best advice i ever got was: no matter how cute the smallest one is, its not a good choice. Dragons that look very skinny, and are not active are most likely ill, when we bought Oscar, we picked the fattest and most hyper one in the tank lol, and he's been a wonder!! Good Luck finding your dragon!
