Hi, I'm Urge101, and actually (this is kind of embarrassing), I don't have a beardie , I'm getting one in April. So.... hi.

hello there! I'm new as well just got my beardie 3 days ago and bowser is an awesome addition to our family. They are cool little buggers and the best reptile to start off with. My first reptile is an iguana I got her about 3 months ago very temperamental. I'm still working with her. But bowser loves the attention he (I'm just assuming for now it's a he) loves to be held cuddle up on me even for such a young one. Good luck to you when you get your beardie. And I would suggest as much reading as you can before you get one. =)

thanks. :lol: I'm reading about them like crazy. Say, would you know where someone like mwa would be able to get a good beardie for a price range of about $40-90? Thanks

Hmm a good price range like that would be local pet stores. I do recommend getting them online though. It is also a good thing to start a Dubia colony. Especially if you are buying a baby. They eat a ton. Plus it saves you $$$ really.

i got my baby from petsmart they were having a sale 39.99 and my friend works there so she picked me out the best of the bunch =) which was crazy because it was the same one I was looking at. good luck on your find!

my personal opinion is look at your local pet store. its like picking out a puppy you just find the one you connect with the most. i made the mistake of buying my first iguana without looking at it and i ended up getting a sick baby and it died a few days later. =( broke my heart. its always better to see what your getting and when shipping you never know what could happen.

Hey Urge, good to see you've signed up early .. way early haha, and getting all the information before getting your beardie! It's up to you, getting them from breeders ensures you get exactly waht you want, and that they have had a good upbringing, whereas beardies from a shop are usually treated wrongly! If you can get the free dragon though, that would be good for you if you're lacking in the bank! Let us know how it goes.

agreed with nathan, i worded what i meant wrong. i was trying to say my personal opinion would be to at least see it before i purchased it. maybe that's just me. whether it be from a breeder or pet store. if i hadn't known the people at pet smart and know they take amazingly awesome care of their animals ( my bestfriend is head of the reptile department) i would have drove 2 hours to go pick my beardie up from a well known breeder in houston. what i was getting at is people can tell you all sorts of things oh they are healthy and what not but when you recieve em. you get your hopes let down. that's not in every case but i happened to get the bad apple out of the bunch. =)

Hey Urge nice to meet you Im in the same boat as you I hope I can get a beardie in May or June and atm all I do is look up bearded dragons read about them do a ton of research and watch videos of them. Oh as well as talk to the awesome people on here about good decisions to make when I get mine. Also trying to convience my mom into letting me have dubias instead of crickets so far I finally pushed her into letting me have the beardie next is dubias. But nice to meet you hope to here from you soon and hope you get an awesome dragon
