Hello Everyone, this is Kochie ( aborigonal for lizzard ) . just one pic for now see if it has worked lol , Doing well and hes lots of fun. had him a week and a day, He is 8 weeks old. Sorry if the pics a little blurry

Oh, he's so cute. I love his coloring. Is he eating good? Make sure to keep him well hydrated as babies can get dehydrated very quickly.

hes eating 30 plus crickets one day, then the next it may be down to 15. But he seems happy, was giving him meal worms now and then also, but not no more as most here dont recomend them, so keeping him on crickets till he gets bigger. Finally got him to nibble on greens to yesterday. yehhh. its his weigh in date today and bath day, he was 11grms when we got him , and in a few days put on a gram, so now a week has passed be nice to see what he is later tonight. he will be nine weeks old on wednesday, and had me worried to bits already, wondering if we done everything right, but he seems happy enough now. we wanted a boy, so we picked the most colourfull one out of the two in the pet shop, as usually in most animals the male is the most colourfull, hope we are right, but if he turns out to be a girl then we will still be happy, just call him a he till we find out as cant type IT all the time . xxxx

Ohh yes on the hydration, we mist him everyday, he loves it and give him a bath once a week, he loves that too, makes our life easyer

That's great that he is eating so well. Good that you don't feed mealworms anymore because they are an impaction risk, especially to a baby.

Glad to hear that you're misting him. Wanted to make sure that you mist him outside of his tank a couple times a day. You don't want the humidity in the tank to get too high or it could cause an upper respiratory infection. Also, if you could increase the baths to 3 to 4 times a wk, that would really help for proper hydration. Make sure his vent area is right down in the water.

Sounds like your little one is adjusting well, and you to him/her. :wink:

Thanks, yehh he is rather cute.

Just got him on crickets now for a while till he gets bigger. His apitite seems to flutuate between 30 and 18 crickets, But weighing him once a week to make sure he was 11 grams when we got him last week, weighed him in yesterday at 15 grams, Not sure if this is a good weight gain in a week for a 8 week old? anyone tell me if this is ok? guess crickets dont wight a lot nor do babys beardies, a few grams dont seema lot , but to a baby beardie perhaps it is not sure, But at least he is gaining weight, Guess also not forgeting this is his first week with us and in his new home Si guess we should be pleased he has gained weight. Not managed to take his lenght as my boyfreind is away, and need help to get his full lenght without him wiggling around. He is still getting used to being picked up, most of the time he rather riddles about a lot. But handling him every day as we want him to be a freindly beardie. Let me know if you think this weekly weight gane is ok for his age please
