Here are some pics of my Beardie. (Havent named it yet)

Ive had him/her for about 4 months now and just about as recently as last week i have finally been able to pick it up without it snapping at me. ( I believe it to be because of a lack of food on my part, i was feeding small crickets which weren't providing the protein necessary.) So after i switched to large crickets my beardie has been very active and ALL OVER the tank. =)

anyways don't bash me too hard and enjoy the pictures..

just as long as the crickets arent bigger than the space between his/her eyes you should be fine otherwise he/she might get impacted

Very nice setup and Beardie! As tiger said just make sure they are no bigger than the space b/t his eyes.. My Scarlett is 4 months and she is still eating the small crickets but she usually eats about 25 or so per feeding.. Just to make sure he is getting enough you can try the 10-15 min rule... Let him eat as much as he will in 10-15 minutes.. :D

I must undermine that rule! ;) just feed him 15+ crickets, your beardie does look a little small for 4-5 months...so maybe feed him 25ish? :D welcome though, hes cute!

He's a cuties! I like your cage layout as well. You can also feed your lil guy some soft bodied worms along with crickets. Theres lots of great sites where you can get reptiworms, etc. And those dont have to be dusted. :p My lil guy loves butterworms.

They need a lot of human contact or they get hostile. Try hand feeding all his veggies so it knows he can snap at the live food but not at you.

well ever since i started feeding him the larger crickets hes been very receptive to me. i can pick him up with no problems now, and he doesnt snap at me at all. i just fed him the last of my large crickets and he seemed fine with them. at my pet store there 10 cents a pice for small and 11 cents a piece for large so thats why i went with large... so im not sure which route to take now....

oh another question,....

when can i switch to sand? some say never others say 6 months... i dont want to hurt my little guy! but i wanna make my tank look spiffy haha

99% of the people on this forum will tell you sand NEVER... It looks cool but its way to risky.. It can cause serious impaction which can in some cases lead to death.. I used tile in my enclosure and it looks pretty cool..

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
