Well hey everyone! I'm new to owning reptiles but I've always had an attraction to them. I've wanted a Bearded Dragon for a couple years now and I've done extensive research on them so I adopted Meeko on February third, of 2011. The reptile store I adopted him from specializes in reptiles and I thought I'd try them out. They were getting 10 babies in the day I got him, their breeder had a clutch of reds with a couple hypos in there. I got the smallest of the clutch; one of the hypos. I'm always concerned that he isn't eating enough. I feed him twice a day and he will eat an average of 4 crickets each feeding. I always offer him salad but he never touches it, I also have dry pellets for baby Beardies, and a wet food that you keep in the fridge? It smells fruity but it looks like chopped liver.
He won't touch that either. I know their diet is %80 protein and %20 greens, but it still concerns me. He's only pooped once in the time that I've had him, but after feedings his belly gets big and not hard, but it's not squishy anymore. By the next day it will be back to squishy but still, no poopies in his tank. I have a day basking light, a nigh heat light, and a UVB/UVA light. He's always eager to grab up those little crickies but he'll be done after 4. Anyways, I'm Sarah-Mae and Meeko is my baby Beardie!
