I have read that temperatures at night can safely drop to between 60-70 degrees for bearded dragons,
but is this healthy for them?
I was wondering - is there a benefit to having a heat wave lamp or coated incandescent bulb run at night?
I'm assuming the reptile would still sleep at night even if the temperatures were still warm -and- he or she would have the added benefit of being able to digest food while doing so... as well as not having to bask as long in the morning to wake up
My only problem would be that my dragon actually seems to know where the basking spot is by the luminosity generated from my current incandescent, though, I'm sure he could figure out that his basking spot would be in the same place, if I put a heat wave lamp in the same area.
he does chase that incandescent bulb though, if I move it to another area, he runs towards it, if I put it outside his viv, he runs into the glass wall after it - lol
I am concerned though, that he would fall asleep in his basking spot, and bake, is that possible?
