having a hard time taming REX

hello everyone, thank you in advance for any advice, ive had REX for about 2 months now (born on 4th of July) and i interact, hold, and play with him ALMOST every day, minus a day or two here and there because im busy with school and what not. i have the temps right, good substrate, reptisun 10.0, his cage is 4ft X 2ft X 1.5 foot custom built viv ect ect, the cage is set up with nothing in there thats not supossed to. To carry-on, sometimes he flares at me if my hand moves too quickly opening his glass door and when he does allow me to pick him he's mellow for about 2-3 min before i tries to jump out of my hand. i was letting him run around as he pleases around my room but he just snuggles and attempts to sleep near my power strip which im constantly taking him away from. he's calm in my hand if I'm walking around but the moment i sit down or stop moving he's back to being extremely active which i love but i cant seem to get him to just chill on my shoulder or in my hand. I understand hes young and just like any toddler and full of energy but its EXTREMELY IRRITATING when he tries to get away. I let him out of his cage to work the energy out and when he snuggles up next to my powerstrip (and this is during mid-day), i let him sit there for about 20 min until he closes his eyes and then i pick him back up thinking he's calm and settle and with in 2-3 min he's just as lively and squirmy. Ive tried hand feeding but he wont do it. When hes in my hand and trying to attempt his leap of faith out of my hand i gently lock him in my hand by closing my fingers until he stops struggling to get loose but i can tell he gets pissed but he doesnt flare or change color........I dont know what else to do.......any advice would be greatly appreciated

Your Rex sounds exactly like my Kadin when she was young. Like you said remember that he's very young and a ball of energy, they are VERY curious at this age and he's not going to have "cuddle time" yet.

Keep holding him as much as you can and your doing the right thing by wrapping your hand around him to hold him still. He doesn't like it because he has to stay in one spot but if you don't he could get temperamental and start to get grouchy.

At this stage it's really just have patience and wait till he's around the 1.5 to 2 year old mark then he will start settling down a bit and have some "cuddle time" with you.
