I dont think anyone was trying to flame him or say he doesnt know what he's doing. Everyone here is just always on the look out to help fix bad practices is all. I am still of the opinion that pinkies should only be used in extreme cases, but thats just me.

As far as all his females loving each other...there is(even if its unnoticed) a clear hierarchy and levles of dominance between all of them. The laying on top of each other is a clear sign of that. lots of other animals use that too. Just my two cents...

If you ask true keepers (not just everyday hobbyists) how and what they feed their dragons you will get a wide variety of answers. and guess what their animals are just as healthy as any other. Many keepers feed insect protein for 2 weeks a pinky on the 3rd week 1 week off and start the cycle over again. Considering that dragons digestive systems are controlled by their environment (i.e. they use heat to digest food) you can set a dragons environment up to give them the ability to digest almost anything. Do i suggest to the hobby keeper or newbie to delve into any of these practices, no, but you can not say that it is wrong just because you have read it is. Do your own research and draw your own conclusions, dont just follow what the "mob" tells ya to.

No one is trying to start a flame war at all so please dont take it that way however I felt compelled to point out the issue with the fuzzies because this not a recommended feeder for BD's.If the poster feels otherwise that is his decision to make and indeed they are his animals therefore he has the ultimate decision.However it is MY responsibility to point things out because other members may read it and deem it a usual and acceptable practice.I am sorry but in this case it is not general practice for very good reasons.The risk is just to great to the animal IMO and has little to no positive impact which is why it isnt usually done.As I said in the beginning I am not saying the OP is not a loving and caring herp owner at all.I think in regards to this part of the discussion there is no longer a need to go any further with it as it wasnt the original intention of the thread so lets just try to find our way back there shall we? :wink:

Love is a human emotion not an animal emotion, at best they're ok but at any time dragons can snap and then you end up with maimed or dead animals and it's absolutely your own fault if that happens.

I am pretty educated and not promoting that beardies can feel "love" as humans feel it. However, I do believe that on some micro level, beardies know they depend on us, and judging by how my beardies interact with me and trust me, beardies can feel love!!! My baby beardie loves actually "begs" me to pick her up and play with her (I'm only assuming it's a her due to the lack of a hemipenis). She jumps into my hand and runs up my arm and when she's tired, she runs to my neck and nuzzles in. My adult beardie, Spike, gets so excited when I come near....even if he is not hungry. He knows it's playtime and knows it's cuddle time. His favorite thing to do after his shoulder ride around the house is fall asleep under my shirt....he crawls under my shirt when I'm lying down and finds my heartbeat, lays on top of it, and goes right to sleep. So, even if it's a diluted point of view, I have my doubts that beardies are just selfish, greedy piggies that just want me for food. Beardies do feel love, as only a dragon can!!!

beardies are like the humans of the reptile world in my opinion, lol rex watches movies with me. He watched the movie eragon all the way threw (and when i say watch i mean like he actually stared at the TV the whole time only lookin at me every now and again to see what i was doing)

i just thought that was irronic cause its a movie about dragons. (i know, stupid and random post lol)
