Hard urates and impaction

Hello everyone!

Calcifer has not been eating much and has had hard urates for a while now. We got him tested after ruling out dehydration and has been diagnosed with pinworms so the vet sent us home with critical care, vitamins and meds. Its been a week and a half of Panacur, critical care + sunshine factor, phoenix worms and offered veggies (which he refuses) and the hard urates still continue! He has been getting water through the critical care mix and baths about every second day and offered water orally through a syringe daily. He hasn't pooped for four days now and I'm getting worried. I would like to bathe him everyday until he does, but I don't want to over-hydrate him. What should I do? Thanks for reading!

It's good that he's getting hydration via the critical care. Have you offered any probiotics? That may help to right his system.

Yes we have looked all over the web for Acidophiliz+ at a reasonable price (We live in Canada, so shipping is ridiculous) and soy yogurt in our small town, but there is none to be found. But I'll bite the bullet and get it if it will help my lizard son

That's right, I'd forgotten you were having trouble finding it. I found a site that carries it. The little tubes should do nicely. Shipping and taxes are a bit much as you said. I plugged in Kamloops as a test and got $16.44 shipped.
