Happy, then attacking?

Freddie's started to make a habit of attacking my finger once before I can do anything with him. I haven't changed anything in his habitat, and I've been handling him. After he attacks me, I can pet him and hold him. Is this common, or what? And also, when should I get a 40 gallon for him? He's about 9-10 inches now.

Is it only in his viv that he is attacking you? If you have been handling him, and he is friendly, it could be something territorial.

For the most part, only there. I'm starting to think he's just really territorial.

Have you been hand-feeding him? He could be associating you putting your hand into his viv
with him getting buggies to eat and just getting over-excited.

Rico used to do that. He'd go nuts and start flicking his tongue out to try and grab my fingers
whenever I'd open his viv. Eventually he figured out that the silver tongs meant food and my
hand meant holding time.
