Guido's becoming rather ill

Guido is generally a very healthy dragon, with a voracious appitite and a calm disposition, there used to be nothing he loved more than to cuddle up on mommy and daddys bed and watch a movie. but lately his been acting very strange. he absolutely refuses to eat his greens, and barely shows any interest in his crickets. the only things i can get him to touch are carrots and bananas. hes beginning to lose weight and im getting worried about him. aslo, now whenever i take him out of his viv, hes extremely antsy, and wants nothing to do with relaxing or cuddles. i believe he may be going through a very bad shed, and will attatch pictures, because hes never had problems shedding so i dont even know what old shed or a bad shed looks like. please help me get my baby boy back to his normal healthy self

here he is soaking i a bath outside, i was using a soft bristlied toothbrush to scrub away what i thought was dead skin, but it didnt make any difference. am i wrong, is it something more serious?

It looks to me like hes is trying to shed, which could cause a decline in appetite. My 10yr old bd Hoodoo had a hard time his last shed.. looked almost exactly like that. I tried bathing and brushing to no avail. What I ended up doing was getting a fairly rough-surfaced rock for him to climb on while in his tank. It did the trick for him as all the stuck shedding is now gone.

I am definitely not a vet, just a caring bd owner who has had what looked like this issue in that past.

Hopefully he starts feeling better soon!!

I think it was Diamc, one of the moderators here, one of hers was having a bad shed and she got a stick of 100% pure cocoa butter from the dollar store and was using that and it helped a lot!

You should not use carrots as his staple veggie, carrots are not too good for beardies.

ive never used them as a staple, he only gets them as a treat, his staple veggies are usually collard and musard greens, but as i said. he refuses to eat them. he will eat nothing besides bananas and carrots. as previously stated, i know its not good for him to be only eating those two things, which is why i asked for help to get him on regular healthy food again

Eeek, looks like poor Guido is going through the dreaded face shed!
Dud can get crabby when he sheds too. If he isn't in to crickets, maybe you could try some super or wax worms for now? They have a pretty hard time refusing those. I'm sure he will be more interested in veggies once he has shed.

Guido's a strange boy. he wants nothing to do with any kind of worms even when he is at the peak of health. he looks at me like, what is this, and why did you put it in my viv, kindly remove it please and thank you. im gonna try and get him some baby food, hes never had it though, fingers crossed that he will at least try it.

Really? LOL, he is a little weirdy then. Babyfood is also hard for them to refuse, so I wish you luck with it!

i think he may also have a nasty case of pinworms, im sending a poo sample off to get tested just to be safe. if that is the case we certainly will be finding a new place to get his food. and if i was him i would probably be irritated too, between possile pinworms and a nasty shed. he keeps rubbing his face on his slate tiles.i know it probably helps the process and keeps it from being itchy, but im worried hes going to rub himself raw. my poor baby

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
