Hi, I drop a ten gallon tank lid on a baby beardies foot, he is 6 days old and it cut his leg. There is like some white/clear stuff in the cut. I really don't think I can do anything other than put neosporin on it till I get home and then put siladene on it right? I can't post pics becuase I didn't bring my camera. Sorry. Anything else I can do?

Sorry that your beardie is hurt. How is he doing now?
What is Siladene? I know that you can put neosporin. Never use peroxide.
Please let us know how your baby is.

Well he is with his siblings that I have hatched out myself, but he is looking fine other than when he runs he drags that leg. He does run though. I just hope it heals. Silvadene was prescribed from a vet to my male dragon for his wound, he rubbed his lower lip till it was raw. Thanks those links helped but it's hard to cover a 3" beardie's leg.

I hear ya, I had to splint a leg on a BD not much bigger. it took several tries before he couldn't get out of it in less than a minute.

liquid bandage might work if it's just a cut you have to worry about. There was a thread here a few months ago about splinting a leg using q-tips and tape if you need that. It could be though that maybe it's just a little sore.

Yeah, but it's an open wound with tendons and such showing, it's bad. But where can I get liquad bandage, also what will splinting a leg do?

You need to seperate him from the others immediately. How bad is this "cut".You said you see whote stuff,do you mean the bone? Betadine is fine for now but you should take him to the vet, this is not an adult beardie and you know an injury likr this can be life threatening for a little one.I do not recommend self medicating on this one nor do I recommend a splint without a vet properly setting it,you could mame him for life.

I totally agree with Vicky, this baby needs to see a vet. I certainly would not use the liquid bandage especially with tendons exposed. Since he's dragging his leg, he needs a vets care, no way around it.

I agree with vicky too, I didn't know that it was that deep. the liquid bandage should only be used for minor cuts if other bandages are difficult to keep on. If there are tendons showing that's pretty serious.

Ok, well here is an update, I think there tendons by the way. The baby is acting normal and moving his leg. The cut is actually started healing very well becuase I can't see anything anymore as in like tendons and such. He is acting normal witch supprised me alot.

Sadly to say, I don't think he will make it through the night. I noticed it wasn't just his foot his vent is open and inside is reddish and purple. His tail is fallen limp, and he doesn't want to move and doesn't bask alot. :( :(

Why dont you just take him to the vet? I am sorry and I do not mean to be blunt but seriously you have not only taken on the responsibility of ownership but have actually been the one responsible for their creation. It is your responsibility to get him to the vet even if that means it's only for HUMANE euthanasia,to allow this poor baby to suffer like this is not appropriate. When we all reminded you of the responsibilities of breeding you promised that you were able to do EVERYTHING that needed to be done well this needs to be done!

I have made a vet apponintment but there exotic vet is on vacation till next week and the other docters don't know what a bearded dragon is, so they said it would be a wasted vet visit. And I called when he was doing good so I hope he is ok till then.

He can't wait until next week.Get him to any vet at this point, it is better then none at all. There has to be other exotics or at least some familiar with BD in the area.He is in pain,it is not something that can wait.I do not want to see your next post saying that he has passed. This is fixable IF you do the right thing.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
