Good place to get logs?

I'd love to know a good place to get a big ol' sitting log for my buddy. I'm not going to the store where i got him because I'm pretty sure my previous bug infestation was because of the logs and substrate I bought from there (some small tan coloured bugs, dissapeared when encolsure and beardie were cleaned not mites i guess). Yeah so any suggestions? From what I know picking up random logs is NOT a good idea... unless I oven bake them for a bit I guess? anyway I'm kinda clueless please give me suggestions!

Have you a fish /aquarium shop near you they usually sell great pieces of wood,thats where I got mine from,Sue

Outside :3 preferably from a rural area, so you can be comfortable there are no contaminants (road pollution, pesticides, etc)Stick to dried hardwood if possible, avoid pine and cedar and anything too "sappy".

Inspect them for rot and infestation of course. I don't sterilize my logs anymore, but you can bake them in the oven or boil them to kill off any bugs who may live in them.

The fish aquarium shop i knew is the place i got bugs from last time... but i'll check out other ones around me and see what they have.
