Going away with my beardie for the weekend..... Advice??

Hi there

This will be the first time I bring my beardie with me on an adventure. He is about 3 1/2 months old and 8 1/2 inches long, so he's still pretty small. Anywho, the family is going up north to a cottage for the weekend and there will be no one to care for him here at home so I have decided to take him along with me.

Currently I plan on taking a rubbermaid bin as temporary housing for basking along with a basking light of course, a few crickets and maybe a bit of salad (he doesn't eat much of it anyway).

Is there anything else I should bring along? Or anything I should keep in mind etc? Like I said this is the firs time he will be outside the house with me so I want this to go as smoothly as possible!

Sounds like you've got it under control. Might want to take some heat packs or a rice sock if you'll have a microwave for his ride in the car. For the temp tub, I just use the non-adhesive shelf liner, and take the favorite basking furniture. When I travel with mine, I take a little toy pet carrier for her to sleep in because there's usually too much activity and lights in the room for her to sleep in her temporary tub.

You really just need the basics if you're only going to be gone for a couple days.

Maybe a little fleece blakie for a beardie burrioto....One malibu is in hers she stays in it for the night.i wrap her up she falls asleep on me then i transfer her in her fleece to her viv...shes got a cushion on there and i put her on there still wrapped in her fleece....I think it keeps her secure and content.

Hehe the blankie issue is an easy one! I made him a little beardie bed the other night so that area is definitely covered

He seems to like it!

Yes, I made that myself! All hand cut and hand sewn... Slaved over it for at least 2 hours haha the things us beardie slaves will do for them sometimes :roll: It wasn't hard to make, it was just slightly time consuming hahaha If you have any experience with sewing you should try making one! If not...maybe we can sort something out........ hehe
