Glass surfing and black bearding

Hello, I asked about my bearded dragon on Saturday. But, her behavior has gradually changed since then. And I want to make sure it is still the same possible reasons. She started glass surfing with a black beard. It is normally in the same area around her greens, but sometimes it isn’t. Today, she head bobbed in front of me. I’m not sure what that could mean. Dominance? Sometimes she will glass surf for a while. Other times it will be 1 minute and she will settle back down. Sometimes she won’t settle very long and get up again shortly. Most of the the time when she glass surfs her beard is black. Occasionally it is brown. Her beard will go bright for lots of greens. Or just a cricket or two. Sometimes it goes bright on its own. That only lasts until she starts again. Many times she will start when she’s on her basking. She starts looking a certain way. Black beards. Then, jumps off her basking. She normally returns to her basking afterwards, but most of the time glass surfs shortly after again. She tends to stop in the same spot right beyond her greens a lot of the time as well. She does settle down on her basking and other places for long periods of time occasionally. Sometimes me being there stops her from glass surfing. Other times she will do it in front of me. She has been doing this since Friday. I checked her weight it was about the same as a month ago. She has been pooping twice a day. I covered her walls, and she still did it. I also checked how she acted around a mirror. She just stared at it. But, I didn’t do it for very long. But, I’m not sure how well I covered them. I tried to take her out to let her play, but she is not used to it. And she ended up just being startled.

I’m also wondering if this could be poop related. Although now I’m not sure because of the head Bob she did this morning. This started about the same time as her pooping every day. When she poops everyday, in the past she would glass surf. And the only other times I saw her black beard and glass surf was poop related. Although these times were continuous. Should I try to spread out her poop? Is it still mood/ boredom/ dominance?

Its spring and it sounds like its a male -- have you had the dragon sexed -- mirrors will make them think its another dragon and will stress them out -- glass surfing usually means they want out -- what size tank is the dragon in?

Thank you for helping me!!! Shes a girl. She laid eggs. I was looking at spring frenzy. Can that be for girls too? Because I saw a few people mention it for females. I’m not sure how young they have to be to have it either. She is 5. This is the first time she had head bobbed at me since doing this too. As for the mirror. The mirror was just to see how she acted with her reflection. She can’t see the mirror right now. Although, I’m not sure if she can see her reflection. I blocked her reflection in certain areas of her tank. And she still did it though. The size tank is a 40 gallon breeder . I know it’s too small. I tried to take her out, but she gets too scared. She doesn’t use her whole tank to glass surf. Just the front wall most of the time. She also has had this tank for a long time. And she hardly ever glass surfs with a black beard. The only other time she did it for more than a day was because of an issue with her poops. Also, she started her black bearding without glass surfing. She was black bearding when she changed seating spots. She wasn’t glass surfing on Friday. Then, glass surfed a bit on Saturday. Then, glass surfed how much she has been doing it recently on Sunday. I just forgot to add this.

Sounds like she has the spring zoomies --- she is eating and basking correct? I would look at upgrading her tank --- we can post websites for those if you want them

She is eating good. And basking. She seems to get off of her basking a lot to glass surf. But, she keeps going back on there. And everyday, she will stay on there for an extended period of time. I will look into upgrading her tank. I was looking at zen habitats. A couple days ago. I know it’s supposed to be a 4 x 2 x 2. But are 48 x 24 x 16 ok? That keeps her height the same. So, she can still have her basking log which she likes a lot. Or do they like/ need the extra height?

Please get a 24" no 16" its too hard for temps in the tank to be correct --- the extra height is more beneficial for temps -- your UVB's go by height of tank - like T 8's are more for smaller tanks and hard to get basking temps on par

Right now she has a t5 ho in a 17 inch high tank. It is covered by widescreen mesh. It is about 10-13 inches from her basking and log. Is that ok?
Is the T 5 sitting on the screen if so the distance should be 8-10 inches directly above her - use basking decor pieces to get the distance --

Yes, it is sitting on the screen. Would the 10-13 inches work? When she sits on it wouldn’t that add a couple inches? Or does that not count? Should I check the distance when she is on it?

The basking has like bump on it that makes it 10 inches from the uvb. There is also a part that sticks out under the uvb that is about 8-9 inches away from it. But, she doesn’t use it. Then she has a log. Normally if she is sitting on the log or at the end of the basking her head is higher than the 10 inches. Should I try to add decor to fix it? I have slate that I can try to put under the log and some of her basking.

Sometimes I’ve seen her do that. Most of the time it’s her basking. Sometimes she will bask closer to the uvb. And other times she basks more towards her uva with her butt by the uvb. Her tail typically goes on her log. I’ve also recently added a hammock which is under the uvb. But, she doesn’t use it. Thank you!!!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
