given a used grapevine branch~cleaning tips? or toss it?

Hi there,
I was recently given a grapevine branch from a friend that had a beardie. I believe she purchased it from online or from a pet store. Im not sure if I should use it in my beardies tank. Ive only cleaned it in hot hot water, but it still has an odor. is it ok to use it? Or should I just toss it? Any tips would be helpful. thanks so much!

Hi Leann....if you really want to use it you could wash it in hot soapy water, then rinse very well. Let it dry some,then pop it in the oven at 225 for about 35 -45 minutes. You can do the same with branches from outside [ not pine or anything sappy ] and put them in a preheated oven for 45 -60 minutes to kill any possible pests from outside.
