Getting my first Beardie!

Hey, I'm just about to purchase my first bearded dragon and I haven't owned any reptiles before, and I've just got one main concern really. I purchased a 4ft vivarium from Pets At Home (http://www.petsathome.com/shop/vivexotic-bearded-dragon-vivarium-for-life-(in-store-only)-108901) and as you can see from the link, the tank has 2 shelves, I'm just wondering if my beardie can burn himself if he gets too close to the lights? And also I don't know what to put on the top shelf because if he can get burnt and I have a branch of some sort up there that he can climb on then he might burn himself really badly? But I don't want to leave the shelf empty? I want him to be safe and healthy so any advice on this or anything in general about bearides would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance

Doesn't work for me either...but to the shelves part, he should be 5 inches away from the light. No closer that 3 inches to the light.
