Getting a new dragon......

Hey everyone,

Ken and I are getting a house and are wanting to get another dragon when we get all settled in at the new place. I think we would like to purchase from a breeder this time. As much as I want to save all those poor babies I see in the pet store. Ken might as well have had to drag me out of the pet store this morning. (they had 5 WAY too small babies in the same tank together and they looked sooo sad) Most of them wouldn't even move. I cant do that. I would have to save every one of them.

I have been looking into bloodbankdragons as they have some beautiful dragons. Here is the catch. We do not want it shipped, I would like to find a breeder that is within a reasonable area to drive to. I know alot of you have your dragons shipped to you, I just have that scared mommy gut feeling that something would go wrong with the poor little thing.

I would like if you could give me the names or websites of some reputable breeders around this area. Breeders whom take good care of their beardies and babies. We live in the Cincinnati, Oh area. But like I said we are willing to drive awhile to get the baby. We would have everything set up for him/her when we would go to purchase. Any suggestions are very happily accepted.

You should look up when there will be a retiol show in your state. Thair will be a lout of breaders to chouse from, so you can shope befor deciding on one animal. Hear is a link you may want to chack out. http://www.allohioshows.com/

There is the Southern Ohio Reptile show next weekend. We were hoping to find someone there, but with everything that everyone has done for us here I wanted ideas from here also. We are also hoping to find some good feeders at the show too.

I have naver been to a show but my husbend works at them reglorly on the east cost, and they will have more then enuff feders for you, he always brings back more they any of are animals can eat. The baest thing is the price, they beet the best pet shop any day!

Hello,
I would try a local reptile show if you truly dont want to have your pooper shipped. I know I twitch like mad everysingle time I ship out a pooper. Knock on wood I havent had any problems. Good luck and good hunting.

I looked around when I was getting a dragon and the only place I found close to me is bluegrass dragons. They are somewhere in KY, can't remember for sure. They didn't have a whole lot either. I decided that I would rather ship a healthy baby from a reputable breeder than pick up an unhealthy one locally, but it was not easy for me to do. I paced plenty while she was in route. I briefly considered driving quite a distance or even flying to pick a dragon up, but decided that 99.9% of the time babies are fine being shipping and it wasn't worth spending 100s of extra dollars to pick her up. Let me know if you find one close, I would like that info for future reference. (I'm near Louisville if you didn't notice).

I know alot of you get your dragons shipped and it is safe. There is just a part of us that is worried I guess. Hesitant if you know what I mean. :?
